Zona Franca puts out to tender the drafting of the basic and execution project of the Cádiz Base Zone

The works, which include the technical direction of the works and the coordination of health and safety, have a base tender budget of €137,000 (VAT not included) and a delivery period of 4 months

This contract is part of the launch of the high-tech incubator for the Base Zone Blue Economy, which is why it is co-financed by European funds within the framework of the FEDER Operational Program of Andalusia 2014-2020.

After the delivery of the basic project, Zona Franca will put out to tender the works of this pioneering and unique action in the city, with modular spaces for entrepreneurs designed in maritime containers under sustainability and energy saving criteria.

The Cádiz Free Trade Zone advances in the development of the Cádiz Base Zone technological project with the tender for the drafting work of the basic project and of execution of this innovative initiative that provides spaces for entrepreneurs in maritime containers.

The contracting of these works, which also include the technical direction of the works and the coordination of safety and health, has a base bidding budget of 137,000 euros (VAT not included) and is co-financed by European funds within the Framework of the Operational Program. ERDF of Andalusia 2014-2020, “A way of making Europe”, subsidy that was awarded last March for the development of a high-tech incubator around the Blue Economy that will be launched in the Consortium's Base Zone technology center , projected on the plot of the former Ibérica Aga, the UE-ZF-08 execution unit of the outer industrial estate.

The aforementioned budget of 137,000 euros (VAT not included) is also divided into five items that are as follows: drafting of the basic project, 50,8000 euros (VAT not included); drafting of the execution project, 38,100 euros (VAT not included); technical management of works, 38,100 euros (VAT not included); drafting the health and safety study, with 5,000 euros (VAT not included); and health and safety coordination work, 5,000 euros (VAT not included).

The maximum term for the drafting of the execution project is 4 months, although to speed up the times the bidding rules establish partial milestones of 1.5 months for the drafting of the basic project and 2.5 months for the drafting of the execution project and the health and safety study.

Thus, once the basic project has been delivered, the Free Zone will be able to begin the procedures to be able to tender the Base Zone works in the first quarter of 2021.

Complying with the work schedule

It must be remembered that the implementation of the Base Zone project and its Blue Economy incubator represents a milestone in the development of the outer polygon and has required, since its inception, complex urban processing that the Free Trade Zone is promoting despite having only 7.6% of the surface of the outer complex. In its commitment to favor the reorganization and revitalization of this strategic area for the future of the city and with the line of work of collaboration with the City Council with which it is in permanent dialogue, the Consortium is working on a timeline that covers different areas that in many cases run in parallel and that function like links in a chain that come together until they form it.

In fact, it must be remembered that a few weeks ago the Consortium contracted the urbanization project for the plot where the Base Zone is located to Técnicas Gades so that its urbanization can begin in the first months of 2021. To this we must add that the Consortium At the beginning of September, the demolition of the old Pastoriza workshops began, which will connect that plot with the old Ibérica AGA and free up the space necessary to develop the Base Zone project. These works are very advanced.

Furthermore, in 2019 the Consortium carried out the cleaning and adaptation works of the plot for an amount of 519,361.02 euros (VAT not included).
