Seventeen new business projects join the Blue Economy technology incubator of the Cádiz Free Zone, Incubazul, through its fourth call. The State delegate in the Cádiz Free Zone, Fran González, welcomed these 17 initiatives that join the acceleration program at the current headquarters of the incubator, located in the Europa building of the Cádiz tax area, this morning. an event in which the director of FEDER Projects of the INCYDE Foundation, Natalia Vázquez, and the head of the entity that is carrying out the acceleration activities of the companies, Telefónica Open Future, Inés Oliveira, have also intervened.
These 17 initiatives become part of the ecosystem of the Incubazul-Zona Base high-tech incubator, to which a total of 63 entrepreneurial projects have already accessed, with very different profiles, all related to the Blue Economy and innovation.
The new startups have passed a pre-selection in accordance with the rules of the call and a second screening with the presentation of their projects before an evaluation committee made up of experts in entrepreneurship and circular economy. This fourth call is characterized by the entry into the acceleration program of highly innovative and technological projects, among which initiatives focused on advanced data analysis, big data, IOT (Internet of Things), biotechnology, massive data storage can be highlighted. , digitization, artificial intelligence, or creation of chatbots, all of them with application in maritime industries.
On the other hand, more classic Blue Economy projects based on aquaculture, coastal tourism, clean and low-cost energy such as solar thermal collectors, flour created through fish by-products, recycling of industrial discharges in the sea also enter Incubazul. and its conversion into biodegradable or in the use of wave energy (of waves).
The State delegate underlined “the important technological aspect that the Cádiz Free Zone incubator adds to this call, marked by highly innovative projects and cutting-edge solutions within the framework of the Blue Economy. Incubazul is making it possible for Cádiz to position itself more and more as the engine and benchmark of the Blue Economy throughout Spain”.
Fran González has highlighted that "we are already seeing how some of the startups that are part of the acceleration program are consolidating as companies and we are working to increase them day by day, fulfilling our objective of promoting economic activity and entrepreneurship in the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals”.
For her part, Natalia Vázquez, highlighted that “these 17 new projects join the almost 1,000 entrepreneurs and companies that have gone through the Network of High Technology Incubators launched by INCYDE, in just 3 years. This network of centers is the largest in Europe with 22 specialized infrastructures in strategic sectors worldwide. In them, the acceleration of the incubated is carried out, through access to specialized state-of-the-art equipment, and personalized and comprehensive advice from expert consultants”.

From now on, the new startups will begin incubation and acceleration that will last for 8 months, extendable to another four, in which, with the added value of tutoring and mentoring - with a team of 21 mentors - they will lay the foundations and They will work on building their business idea. The acceleration program has the support of Telefónica Open Future.
The 17 selected projects are: Adhere Gear, ElijoViaje.es, Chatfy, Criainsecta, D&Btech, FleetPlanner, GoAhead, Hamacapp, HarinaRRR, MandalaBLue Yoga, MST Aventuras, OilKontrol, Rocco U, Singular Plan, SoleaHeat, SouthWave y Universal SEAnergy.
All of them develop technology-based solutions that can be applied in the multiple subsectors covered by the Blue Economy: from the mapping, tracking and monitoring of carbon emissions for the maritime industry; the design and commercialization of microalgae production and algae purification systems; the creation of a platform to know the traceability of merchandise and optimize maritime routes; the development of prototypes for recyclable gas storage tanks for diving; digitization of hammock areas for prior reservation; going through yoga and water therapies; the enhancement of ecotourism in the coastal zone and in the salt flats; or the launch of a leisure project for the creation of artificial waves.
The day of welcome and global presentation of the startups that are incorporated, was completed with a demonstration of incubated projects and the intervention of the promoters of business initiatives Saturnino González, from Agualytics, Maybe Hermoso from Buceo Conciencia and Jenny Lorena Victoria from Reuse Play , entrepreneurs who narrated their experience in the Cádiz Free Zone incubator. The day ended with a networking session.
