The State delegate in the Cádiz Free Trade Zone, Fran González, received today at the Consortium facilities a Moroccan delegation from the city of Agadir, in the Souss Massa region, which is part of the Reverse Mission in Cádiz organized by the Port Authority of the Bay of Cádiz and which is being held in the city until tomorrow.

Forty-five people, including institutional and business representatives, are participating in the meeting whose main objective is to recover the maritime connection between Cádiz and Morocco. Among the participants in the mission are the president of the Souss Massa Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services, Said Dor; the consul general of the Kingdom of Morocco in Algeciras, Driss Soussi; the president of the Souss-Massa regional section, general confederation of businessmen of Morocco, Driss Boutti; the vice-president of the municipal council of Agadir, Abdallah Boulghmail and Mohammed Oudmine, vice-president of the Regional Council of Souss Massa.

The mission began yesterday with the official inauguration at the APBC headquarters and which included the participation of the delegate of the Free Trade Zone, who welcomed the attendees and highlighted the importance of Hispanic-Moroccan collaboration. The opening ceremony also included the intervention of the mayor of the city of Cádiz, Bruno García; the first vice president of the Provincial Council of Cádiz, Juan José Ortiz; and the delegate of the Junta Government in Cádiz, Mercedes Colombo.

The Moroccan delegation attended a presentation in the auditorium of the Heracles building in the Free Trade Zone, where the Consortium delegate reviewed the projects that the Cádiz Institution has underway and its activity, in addition to learning first-hand about the activity of companies such as Petaca Chico and Cayco.

The delegate of the Free Trade Zone explained to the attendees the details of the new industry 4.0 model implemented by the Consortium, with its Decarbonization Plan, the startup incubator and the new ZF Blue Core project, the 4.0 business incubator that provides continuity and complements Incubazul.

Fran González, who has insisted on the importance of collaboration between administrations and companies from both countries, has accompanied the Moroccan representatives on their visit to the logistics operator Cayco, one of the traditional companies in the Free Trade Zone, with a long history and that operates at a national and international level, especially in activities linked to foreign trade.

Another of the companies that the Moroccan delegation met was Petaca Chico, a leading company installed in the Cadiz tax area that has recently expanded its production and has 12,000 m2 of space in facilities in the Free Trade Zone. The visit has been able to confirm how this company is committed to innovation and diversification and also has different product lines, such as cooked octopus, swordfish, yellowfin tuna or its line of preserved and salted products, which highlights sea ham, launched on the market several years ago together with the chef Ángel León.

The Free Trade Zone delegate has highlighted the importance of this type of meetings and missions, since "it offers us the possibility of establishing contacts and promoting the Cádiz brand and our tax precincts, that of Cádiz and that of the Bay of Algeciras, with the cost savings that come with having customs and tax advantages." Fran González added that "our tax facility has almost a century of experience, also in a privileged location, a city like Cádiz that is a natural gateway to the neighboring country."
