Origin Salty
Orixe Salgada tries to solve the problem of algae that are deposited on the coast with the tide and that represent a great problem by producing anoxia in the shellfish beds, killing up to 80% of the production of species as characteristic as the clam or the cockle. Each brotherhood can withdraw 1.5Tn in a year. Our solution is to build a processing plant, or biorefinery, that converts this current waste into products for agriculture, cosmetics or even animal feed, giving a second life to these algae as our ancestors did.
Algae are the lungs of our oceans and the planet and, with our plant, we contribute to decarbonizing the planet since we prevent all that CO2 captured through photosynthesis for the growth of the algae itself, from being returned to the atmosphere in the phases of putrefaction, but rather it becomes matter rich in different natural chemical compounds necessary for cultivation, health and food. Our philosophy is climate neutrality, which is why we designed a processing method that uses 100% of the algae through renewable energy sources. Likewise, our products are sold in reusable and compostable containers made from the algae themselves.
