Incubazul adds 23 new startups with the third phase of the project

Today the new initiatives were welcomed in the Europa building of the fiscal area, bringing a total of forty-six projects benefited by the Cádiz Free Zone Incubator.

The delegate of the Free Zone, Fran González, has highlighted that the third call supposes "the consolidation of a project that places Cádiz in the national epicenter of the Blue Economy".

Natalia Vázquez, director of Feder Projects of the Incyde Foundation, also took part in the act.

Incubazul is co-financed by the European FEDER Funds within the 2014-2020 Operational Program, A way of making Europe, through the INCYDE Foundation.

 

The acceleration program of Incubazul, the Blue Economy incubator developed by the Cádiz Free Zone, 80% co-financed by the Feder Funds managed by the INCYDE Foundation, has welcomed the twenty-three new startups that have accessed incubation at the third recruitment call. In turn, the 23 startups that were already housed in the Incubator have gathered at the Incubazul Agora together with the mentoring staff, organizer and technical team that make up the Incubazul ecosystem.

The 23 initiatives have passed a pre-selection in accordance with the rules of the call, and a second screening, with the presentation of their projects before an evaluation committee made up of experts in entrepreneurship and circular economy. A total of 38 business initiatives were candidates to access this third phase. Those more related to the Blue Economy have moved to the acceleration program, which focuses on the role of seas and oceans as an economic source and on the importance of managing their resources efficiently, introducing technology and innovation that allow sustainable use in the future.

The State delegate in the Cádiz Free Zone, Fran González, has pointed out that there are many business projects that have already accessed the Incubator of the Cádiz tax area, which acts as a powerful
engine of development of business ideas. On the other hand, he has underlined the important commitment of the Free Zone to sustainability and the circular economy with Incubazul, "an already consolidated project that is turning Cádiz into the epicenter of the Blue Economy in all of Spain".

Lastly, the person in charge of the Free Zone added that, in this third phase of the program, "the Incubazul Laboratory continues to be strengthened with state-of-the-art material and machinery, and to which a gas and particle filter cabin has recently been added, virtual reality glasses for demonstrating projects and new 3D printing machinery for more precise modeling”.

The director of Feder Projects of the Incyde Foundation, Natalia Vázquez, who intervened via streaming due to scheduling problems, and the head of Operations for Open Future Telefónica, Patricia López-Fuchet, also participated in the welcome ceremony for the acceleration program. From now on, the new startups will begin incubation that will last for 4 months in which, with the added value of tutoring and mentoring - with a team of 18 mentors - they will lay the foundations and
They will work on building your business idea. Individuals or legal entities established in the EU participate in the program with initiatives and projects of a technological and innovative nature and from a circular economy approach and commitment to the environment.

 

The 23 selected projects are: Agualytics, Bombus, Archangelus Naval, TMS Maritime Solutions, Gambariocultivo, Come Jugando, Gibraldrone, Entresalinas, IMBS, Algaeca, Salineras de la Esperanza, 3RCOL, EggOn Technology, Fuller Innovation, Sea4tech, The Talent Sea, Noctiluca , Pescaoo, Power Sea Water, Salaria Productos, Seamind, Feel the Bay and Villana Project.

 

All of them represent technology-based concepts and services that can be applied in the multiple subsectors covered by the Blue Economy: from solutions for the efficient and sustainable management of the integral water cycle; the use of an invasive algae to create bioconstruction material through lightweight blocks for thermal insulation; the development of devices to improve safety in emergency situations
emergency at sea; going through a business school specialized in the maritime, port and logistics sectors; naval digitization solutions for ship fleets, port authorities and shipyards; the enhancement of the salt tradition; the culture of shrimps for its commercialization in acuariofilia; a platform that connects fishermen and fish and seafood producers with consumers; until the start-up of a production company specializing in underwater matters.

 

With these twenty-three new startups from the Blue Economy technology incubator of the Cádiz Base Zone project, those incubated now add up to 46, as they are added to those incorporated in the two previous calls in April (8 startups) and October 2022 (15 startups).

The team of mentors and advisors that make up the ecosystem of the Cádiz Free Zone incubator, which has the support of Telefónica Open Future, will help the incubated projects with a personalized training and work plan to boost the business, offering support legal, marketing, branding, presentation of the idea, internationalization, search for financing channels to guarantee the viability of the startup, access to own or third-party research infrastructures or provision of services that facilitate the day-to-day running of the startup, together with networking sessions, and conferences aimed at establishing contacts between the different interest groups associated with them.
