The Blue Zone Forum-Innovazul 2024, organized by Zona Franca, University of Cádiz, Incubazul and CEI-Mar, opens tomorrow, Wednesday, November 20, with more than 1,500 registered participants, a figure much higher than that achieved in the Blue Zone Forum in 2023 when 900 people attended and it was already a success with the public and had a very positive overall balance, turning Cádiz into a productive center of reflection on the Blue Economy and Innovation, and which is on par with the 2,000 people who participated in InnovAzul 2022.

This year's edition, enriched by the strength of having the University of Cádiz and CEI-Mar as co-organizers, will once again turn the Cadiz capital into the epicenter of innovation, technology, research and entrepreneurship in the blue sector .

The institutional opening of the event, which is held at the Cádiz Conference Center and has exceeded the organizers' expectations, will take place at 9:30 a.m. and will be hosted by journalist Javier Ruiz, head of Economy at Cadena Ser.

Among the more than 1,500 attendees will be present, in addition to authorities and representatives from the scientific and business world, eight institutes and schools in the province with more than 400 students, as well as the nearly 500 researchers from all over Spain who will participate in the presentation of ThikInAzul. It must be remembered that Zona Franca maintains a program of guided tours that are regularly attended by educational centers from all over Andalusia.

The opening day will feature the intervention of Celine Cousteu as the main speaker and in the afternoon the general director of Red.es will speak about the digitalization of companies, among other interesting presentations and the space dedicated to Biotechnology, which will be held at the last minute in the morning and will continue on Thursday, which will feature the participation of chef Ferrán Adriá.

In addition, the first day includes the institutional presentation of ThinkInAzul Andalucía: Complementary Plan in Marine Sciences of Andalusia, whose scientific management project is coordinated by the CEI·Mar Foundation and which foresees the presence of more than 400 researchers from 40 universities and research centers. different research. This is the most relevant scientific event scheduled within the activities of BZF-InnovAzul 2024 and will allow the progress of a project to be presented where half a thousand researchers carry out their specialized scientific activity through 49 research projects linked to the Blue Economy. During the three days and within the framework of ThinkInAzul, scientists from CEIM·ar universities and research institutes throughout Spain will address different topics related to the blue territory, entrepreneurship, health and the sea, the blue ecosystem, the importance of management and protection of flood zones, blue tourism, the remains of research and conservation of underwater cultural heritage, sustainable and precision aquaculture and innovation in fishing or the observation and monitoring of the marine and coastal environment, among others.

Starting tomorrow and until Friday, Cádiz will once again be a center of reflection and knowledge around the Blue Economy with the help of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone, Incubazul, the University of Cádiz and the Global Sea Campus of International Excellence ( CEI·Mar), which this year join forces to once again turn the capital of Cadiz into the great forum of the sector and bring together entrepreneurs, companies, institutions, experts, the scientific community and lecturers in the city. There will also be a stand area where you can attend live demonstrations of the different startups and exhibiting companies.
