The State delegate in the Consortium, Fran González, has highlighted “that programs like this are fundamental to guarantee the transfer of R&D&I to young people around sectors such as the Blue Economy, key to the economic growth of this province.”
Cádiz, Friday, January 28, 2022
The INCYDE Foundation, through the help of the European Social Fund, and the Cádiz Free Trade Zone, with the collaboration of the Cádiz Chamber of Commerce, have resumed their collaboration in 2022 in the development of a highly qualified training plan, which It adds to the synergies and other joint actions between both entities that have as their banner the development of the Blue Economy Technological Incubator project, Incubazul.
Thus, they have launched the Program for the Creation and Consolidation of Maritime Technology-Based Companies, which will begin on February 14 and will be developed virtually for the next seven weeks, until April 1. The objective of the Program is to support and formalize the development of businesses linked to the thriving Blue Economy, as well as improve the training and employability of people related to the maritime field, placing emphasis on ICTs and their practical application.
It should be noted that this training action is intended for young people under 30 years of age and who are registered with the Youth Guarantee. It has a capacity limit of between 20 and 25 places available so those interested can register through the link https://www.incyde.org/proximos-programas.
This Program for the Creation and Consolidation of Maritime Technology-Based Companies therefore delves into a sector such as the Blue Economy, key to economic growth in the coming years and with good prospects for employability, especially in an area like the Bay of Cádiz, with enormous potential in this sector. In this sense, it must be remembered that the Incubazul initiative, subsidized by the European Regional Development Fund within the Pluriregional Operational Program of Spain Feder 2014-2020 “A way of making Europe”, already houses projects and ideas that develop their work with the natural resources obtained from the sea being careful and committed to the environment.
During the seven weeks of training, participants will deepen their knowledge about the maritime sector, which is currently immersed in a transformation process towards Industry 4.0: Shipyard 4.0, autonomous ships, virtual ships, simulation of emergency situations with digital twins, inspection with drones, apps to reserve moorings in marinas or to share maritime and tourist information in real time, among others. This opens up an almost infinite range of business opportunities, which are also served in the Cádiz Free Trade Zone through the aforementioned Incubazul project and other initiatives through synergies with entities such as Navantia or the Cádiz Naval Maritime Cluster.
The State delegate in the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz, Fran González, has positively valued the implementation of this new training action with INCYDE and has focused on “the importance of preparing our young people with the best tools around Blue Economy; In fact, the choice of this theme has been very careful because we cannot lose sight of the fact that the sea is an inexhaustible source of opportunities and that it is a key sector in the economic growth plan of our province. For example, 90% of world trade moves by sea, which represents an immense field in which to introduce the innovations that new technologies make possible."
For González, “the Blue Economy involves all economic sectors from fishing to shipbuilding and its auxiliary industry or tourist services related to the sea. From Zona Franca we have clearly opted for it through our technological incubator, Incubazul, and we want to generate an emblem around it and the marine sector as an economic resource that we must exploit in a sustainable and committed way. We work hand in hand with the European Union and in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda of the Government of Spain and its recovery, transformation and resilience plan.”
Furthermore, "for the Free Trade Zone it is very important to go hand in hand with INCYDE in these training actions and, above all, in the development of Incubazul and to be part of its national network of High Technology incubators since it is a differentiating and guarantee to advance in the transfer of R&D&i to companies.”
A complete program with high technological content
After the two programs launched last autumn within the Operational Program for Employment, Training and Education (POEFE), the Free Trade Zone and INCYDE have wanted to promote employment among young people with this training action that is part of the Operational Employment Program Youth (POEJ) and is co-financed by the European Social Fund.
Once again, the program stands out for its holistic training methodology and individualized advice, proven effective by years of experience working in entrepreneurship, achieving sessions with high technological content and optimizing information flows between participants, necessary aspects for these initiatives are competitive and can reach the aforementioned markets.
A common structure of the training program has been designed consisting of group sessions, individualized tutoring and complementary online training. During the first, the general contents of the program will be taught, in order to provide the essential knowledge, tools and skills in each of the areas of knowledge. These sessions will be complemented by other individualized support and consulting sessions, in which each participant will be guided more flexibly based on their professional profile and the activity of each business project. Finally, there will be a mentoring complementary more advanced support in each subject.
The contents will focus on project management, digital marketing, commercialization and promotion; operations and innovation; ICT, computer applications and information management; and finances and legal-fiscal aspects.
This new collaboration of the Free Trade Zone with the INCYDE Foundation and the Chamber of Cádiz maintains the line of joint work of continuing to provide more permeable tools to the productive fabric in thriving sectors with employability, in order for entrepreneurs to identify business opportunities and can make the leap into the labor market with qualified, technology-based training.
With this, progress is made in the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the INCYDE Foundation (training, support, incubation and network of contacts) that makes it possible to connect projects, causing important synergies that can materialize in strategic alliances and in the creation of new job opportunities for the Cádiz business fabric.
